CHANDIGARH: With dates confirmed for the visit of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) team on March 2-5, Panjab University (PU) vice chancellor Arun Kumar Grover will soon review the preparations for the same.

At the chairpersons' meeting scheduled to be held on January 22, Grover will address the chairpersons of various departments, centres and institutes of the university and seek feedback about the ongoing preparations for the upcoming NAAC visit.

The NAAC visit, which was expected to take place in January as the university had requested three dates in the current month, has been postponed as the team has conveyed dates for March. With more time in hand, the VC is likely to review the shortfalls and ask the respective head to scale up the preparations.

The dates have been communicated and uploaded on the NAAC website according to which a 15-member team, headed by professor Anil K Bhatnagar, will be visiting the PU campus over the three days.

The VC has been reviewing the progress of the preparations by various departments in view of the visit, which will happen after a gap of five years. A four-day mock drill was also conducted towards the end of December.

The dates in the first week would also give the university time before the visit of President Pranab Mukherjee, Nobel Laureate Kailash Satyarthi and Field Medal winner Manjul Bhargava who will visit PU on March 14 this year for the 64th annual convocation.
