AHMEDABAD: IIT-Gandhinagar faculty and students eagerly waiting for its campus-warming will have to wait for one more week.

The institute will start shifting to its 400-acre permanent campus on the banks of the Sabarmati at Palaj village in Gandhinagar from July 8.

Earlier, the institute was scheduled to make a move to its residential campus with around 1,000 students and close to 100 faculty on July 1.

The original move was scheduled for mid-December, but the project was delayed. For the past few years, IIT-Gn has been functioning from a temporary facility at Vishwakarma Engineering College in Chandkheda.

"We'll start major shifting drive from July 8 that will continue till July-end. On Wednesday, a few faculty members conducted a survey of the ongoing works at Palaj campus," said Harish Palanthandalam-Madapusi, an IIT-Gn faculty who is involved with the campus work at Palaj.
